The idea for Joyce Country Geopark was born in 2008 with the aim to bring additional tourism revenue to this often over-looked area in north Connemara and south Mayo.
A detailed review of their progress and a public and stakeholder consultation process in late 2016 - early 2017 led to this report on the steps needed to progress the Geopark idea to achieving UNESCO Global Geopark status.
