Which Geological Survey Ireland programme do you work in?
Tellus

What do you do?
Graduate geologist. I help in all areas of Tellus from the geochemistry ground survey to the geophysical airborne survey.

Why does your programme do the work it does?
Tellus will provide a baseline level of Ireland's geochemistry and geophysics. The data collected is used to create deliverables for industry and academia

When do you do fieldwork and what does it involve?
During the summer months. The geochemistry ground survey is currently sampling in Wicklow. The geophysics survey requires a plane to fly low to the ground and is currently flying in the midlands.

Where does your work take you?
Sampling is done urban and rural. The geochemistry survey involves hiking. We also visit Waterford airport frequently.
