In 2018 the Geological Survey and Tellus have contributed to the running of the Applied Environmental Geology MSc course run by University College Cork.
Tellus Geophysicists constructed and ran the Applied Geophysics course with the support of Richard Unitt (UCC) and Yvonne O'Connell (Apex Geophysics Ltd). The GL6024 Applied Geophysics course consistent of a series of lectures outlining the main theory, uses and applications of near surface geophysical methods, in particular those that apply to environmental and engineering applications. A series of practical demonstrations and uses of geophysics field equipment and field work were also given. Examples of Tellus data were included as part of the course and used within geophysical interpretation exercises.
The course was run for the first time in 2018 and will continue on an annual basis.
More information about the course can be found here or contact Dr. Pat Meere (p.meere@ucc.ie).
