Tellus undertakes research with a range of collaborators in order to maximise the societal and economic benefits of the geochemical and geophysical data gathered during surveys. Accurate mapping of its occurrence can help identify households potentially at risk from exposure to radon and assist with highlighting high radon areas for future development.

Iron in Groundwater

Iron is naturally present in many types of rock. It is commonly found in Irish groundwater, sometimes in amounts that can be problematic. Geological Survey Ireland has prepared an information leaflet for well owners whose wells have excessive iron concentrations.
