NOF Energy along with Enterprise Ireland hosted a Global Energy Showcase in Dublin from 4th to 6th September. Over 80 delegates from Ireland, UK, Norway, France and the Gulf heard updates from Wood McKenzie on Global Energy Trends; from SSE, ESB and Vattenfall on the Energy Future for Ireland and the UK and from the Energy Innovation Centre, DNV and Energy System Catapults on Research and Innovation. The continued rapid growth of renewable energy technologies is urgently required to meet greenhouse gas targets, especially in Ireland.
Six Enterprise Ireland client companies also presented, among them Geoscience Ireland (GI). Sean Finlay outlined GI’s business model of winning business for its 36 client companies by encouraging collaboration and providing market intelligence. GI is co-sponsored by Geological Survey Ireland and Enterprise Ireland. Case Studies presented covered Onshore and Offshore Wind Energy, Solar, Geothermal and conventional energy projects.
The Seminar also heard case histories from the Norway Offshore Wind Sector; Solar Energy development in France(by John Mullins of Amarenco) and Middle East Opportunities.
