Fullbright Ireland and GSI partner for the US Fullbright Scholar awards programme 2019-2020

Fulbright Ireland and GSI have once again partnered for the US Fulbright Student and Scholar awards programme 2019-2020. This programme invites Irish based geoscience researchers to be hosted by a research active institute in the USA usually for a period of 4-12 months. GSI Awardees are expected to carry out research, share knowledge and engage in cultural exchange programmes. Two recent Fulbright-GSI awardees are Dr Aggeliki Georgiopoulou (UCD to USGS Woods Hole) and Dr Gavin Kenny (TCD to Boise State University, Idaho)

Applicants must include in their application a letter of invitation from the planned host.

Budget:

Salary and research costs are not covered by this award - this is for travel and subsistence costs, plus accident and emergency insurance, cultural and professional programming, and J-1 visa administration. Budget depend on the duration and location of stay.

The closing date for applications is 6 November 2018. Further information and the application can be found on the Fulbright website.
