Geoscience Ireland (GI) is delighted to welcome AECOM as its 35th member.
AECOM, a leading global provider of design, construction and management services, employs over 87,000 people globally with offices located in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Australia and America. AECOM has been in Ireland since 1999 and now has six offices (Dublin , Galway, Limerick, Cork and Derry).

Projects include the provision of planning and consultancy services for Facebook’s Datacentre in Co. Meath. AECOM delivered a series of environmental and engineering services in the site selection and layout design phase which included geo-environmental site investigations and risk assessments, leading to provision of the EIA and planning applications.
AECOM designed and supervised a number of iterative environmental site investigations for a historic deposition area in Northern Ireland. Risk assessments were carried out and identified potential environmental risks which informed a remedial options appraisal.
International projects include the provision of environmental due diligence services during the pre-acquisition phase of a number of sites (for a private client) located across 11 different countries including Australia, New Zealand and India. AECOM identified environmental issues across the sites and advised the client as to the significance of the liability.
AECOM’s environmental compliance team reviews and regularly updates country specific reports in relation to the regulatory requirements for electronic waste management. To date AECOM have carried out work in over 50 countries within Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa.
