One of the main outcomes of Geoscience 2018 conference on 'meeting the challenges', communication featured heavily as a topic to focus on to ensure geoscience will retain visibility due to its often overseen relevance to society. Geological Survey Ireland is hosting a workshop for staff with Dr Eileen van der Flier-Keller from Simon Fraser University (SFU), Vancouver. Eileen is a teaching Professor of Earth Sciences at SFU and ran a similar workshop at RFG2018 conference back in June. The purpose of the workshop is to expose staff involved in all aspects of communication in GSI how best to get their message across depending on audiences.
