The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies ill be hosting a Volcano Public Open Day as part of the Improve project. A European Training Network fuded by the European Union. 

The open day is taking place on Thursday, 17 May at the Foy Centre, Carlingford from 12:45pm to 4:30pm. 

Volcanologists form all over the world will be at the event, showcasing fun practical demonstrations! 

This event is free and suitable for all ages. 

Experiments will be exhibited to explain how volcanoes erupt, what seismic waves are, what kind of rocks come from volcono, how volcanoes erupt and flow and much more! 

About Improve

IMPROVE is a highly cooperative multi-disciplinary network of European Research Institutes and Small-Medium Enterprises. In IMPROVE, 15 Early Stage Researchers are trained to innovative research in volcano science extending across the academia-industry bridge, and including cooperative work, leadership skills, and independent thinking. Volcano science includes from innovative monitoring and prospecting to advanced lab experiments, High Performance Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.
