These guidelines are intended for Irish Concrete Federation (ICF) members so that they
may follow best practice and receive clear information concerning geological heritage in
relation to any proposed quarry or related development or land purchase.
They are also intended as a useful template for any quarry operator in addressing
geodiversity issues and thereby contributing to the databases of the
Geological Survey Ireland.
This furtherance of geological knowledge will ultimately feed back into Ireland's extractive
industry as well as help provide other benefits to society.
