Library

The Library is open to anyone who wishes to use the facilities for study, research or just to browse. We provide a huge range of books, maps, offprints etc., a comfortable and peaceful setting with free Wi-Fi access.

It is the role of the library to provide easily accessible and accurate geological information for Ireland. The GSI library also has responsibility for promoting public understanding of the role of geoscience and the role of Geological Survey Ireland in Irish society.

The library is located within the Customer Centre and contains over 4,000 textbooks, 10,000 journals, 150 Theses and 2,000 offprints on Irish and International geology.

The opening times are:

Monday-Friday 9.30am – 1pm,

                                 2pm – 4pm.

Closed Saturday and Sunday
