Fulbright Ireland and GSI partner again for the US Fulbright Scholar awards programme 2019-2020

Published:

Fulbright Ireland and GSI have once again partnered for the US Fulbright Scholar awards programme 2019-2020. This programme invites US based geoscience researchers to be hosted by a research active institute in Ireland for one or two semesters. Awardees are expected to carry out research, share knowledge and contribute to the teaching programmes in an Earth science/geoscience department in Ireland.

Applicants must include in their application a letter of invitation from the planned host and a teaching plan for the courses they intend to contribute to.

Budget:
Salary and research costs are not covered by this award - this is for travel and subsistence costs only. Budget depend on the duration and location of stay.

Closing date & submission
The closing date for applications is 2 August 2018. Further information and the application can be found on the Fulbright CIES website. Applicants must use the online system. Applicants will be managed and assessed by Fulbright US (not Fulbright Ireland or GSI).

Please note that the restricted list of disciplines included on the website is a function of the online system. GSI will support applications in the Earth science/geoscience areas but please contact our research manager Aoife Braiden at aoife.braiden@gsi.ie for confirmation before submitting applications.
