Down to Earth - Exploring Ireland's Geology. New geology exhibition at National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks

​Down to Earth - Exploring Ireland's Geology is now open. The exhibition was officially opened by Minister Eamon Ryan TD on 27 September 2021 at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks.

The exhibition was developed by the National Museum of Ireland in partnership with Geological Survey Ireland to celebrate 175th anniversary of the establishment of Geological Survey Ireland.

Exhibits include a large floor map of the geology of Ireland, a reconstruction of one of RV Keary, new art work depicting a cross-section of Dublin from Collins Barracks to the sea, and an impressive collection of the minerals we use in our daily lives. The exhibition is suitable for all ages and geological backgrounds. More information is available on The National Museum of Ireland website.

Admission is free and booking is not required except for groups.
