To mark 2019 European Researchers' Night, Geological Survey Ireland will again host a free public event showcasing geoscience research in Ireland. This year, our theme Sinkholes to Watering Holes, will include three short talks about the formation of sinkholes and the associated hazards, karst systems in Ireland and how it affects our groundwater resources and recent advances in monitoring and understanding turloughs and seasonal lakes. The talks will be followed by a reception and an opportunity to meet and discuss the topics with our three speakers: Dr Eoghan Holohan (UCD), Dr Caoimhe Hickey (GSI) and Dr Ted McCormack (GSI).

Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm.

All welcome.
