​Geological Survey Ireland and the Exploration and Mining Division are pleased to host a course on Practical Mining, to be delivered by LTMS - Lisheen Technical and Mining Services on Tuesday 16th April, 9am – 4.30pm in GSI Lecture Theatre. The course will provide an overview of mining, designed to give geoscience professionals, such as geologists, geotechnical engineers, environmentalists and planners an understanding of the mining process from the exploration stage to mine closure (see course details).

This course is being co-hosted by the Institute of Geologists of Ireland, the Irish Mining and Quarrying Society, the Irish Association for Economic Geology and Geoscience Ireland. Members of these organisations can avail of a registration fee of €100. Registration fees are €150 for non-members and €75 for students.

This course is certified by the Institute of Geologists of Ireland for 6.5 hours CPD.
